The Riverton High School Band program has, over the years, established a reputation for excellence in a number of areas. Several groups make up the program and each one is highly motivated and very musically active. The Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and Percussion Ensembles are at the core of the program. In order for a student to be a part of any other performance group, they must first be enrolled in one of the core ensembles. Other performance groups include the Marching Band, Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Lab Band, Pep Band and small ensemble groups such as Brass Quintet, Woodwind Quintet, Flute Choir, Brass Choir, and Orchestra Winds. To help increase individual musicianship all students are encouraged to study privately and all students are required to attend an after school sectional once a week. All students will also participate in at least one solo & ensemble performance festival each year. A brief description of each program is included and it is interesting to note that many students are able to be involved in several of the offerings.
