The Color Guard plays an integral role in the Band Program at Riverton High School. During the summer and fall Marching Band seasons, the color guard adds color, grace, and visual excitement to the marching band performance, enhancing the pageantry of the marching band activity tremendously. During the winter, the color guard competes in events designed to showcase the unique talents and abilities of these young performers. The guard meets as a class during the school day, and at after-school rehearsals during the competitive marching band and winter guard seasons. Enrollment in the color guard class is required for membership in the extra-curricular color guard activity. There is a $45 District participation fee, a $150 class fee for each season (summer marching band, fall marching band, and winter guard, respectively), and other minor expenses (TBA).
