Marching Band is perhaps the most visible element of the band program. The marching band begins in the early summer to prepare for local parades. A calendar is available with all rehearsal and performance dates. During the school-year, marching band rehearsals are held on Mondays & Thursdays from 3:00-6:00, and Wednesdays from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. A few Saturday morning rehearsals can also be expected. The Marching Band will play at all home region football games, and will perform at approximately seven (7) competitions in Utah and one out-of-state competition at the end of the season. The cost of participation is $300 ($150 paid in the spring, and the remaining $150 paid in August). Other expenses, including tour fees, marching shoes, and district fees can potentially all be paid through high-yield fundraising opportunities. Concurrent enrollment in an instrumental concert group is required for eligibility.
